There are different kinds of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.
The whole mouth is examined and a determination is made regarding which teeth will need to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and look return and one just carries on as usual. Frequently implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.
It is important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you are able to eat, your self-esteem in social circumstances, and even your self-confidence.
Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the very same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper full denture will often feel much better than a lower complete denture. In order to dramatically enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we frequently recommend utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably enhance comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for multiple years.
