Exactly What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

There are multiple advantages to having treatment with same day crowns over conventional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is performed in a single appointment, you only have to see the dental practitioner one time, take one day from your routine to have the treatment, instead of the typical 2 or 3 visits.

  • Only one anesthetic injections, given that the entire procedure can be carried out within an hour you just need to have one injection.

  • Your dental practitioner remains in complete control of the final result, because the crown or inlay are designed and made from start to finish by your dentist, they have overall control over how it will look and fit.

  • No short-term restorations, which can often fall off between visits if they are not looked after correctly.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in specific scenarios where a tooth has been damaged or ended up being stained. These are normally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable methods instead of through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the positioning of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material sticks to the surface area. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a glossy finish as a last step.
