Same day crowns are an innovative dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, broken, or cracked teeth. This innovation can develop complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown device crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is accomplished in one visit. In addition to the advantage of a one appointment restoration, there is no uncomfortable impression material to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The procedure for placement of a same day crown restoration is really simple. The first step is to get rid of all decay from the tooth. The dentist will then shape the tooth in preparation to take a digital photo. The tooth is then sprayed with a very fine powder. This enables the digital camera to take an appropriate image. As soon as this image is recorded, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will permit the dental practitioner to create the restoration right in front of you.

When the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes around 15 minutes. You can actually view this process if you would like. When the restoration is finished milling, the dentist will put the restoration on your tooth.

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of most clients, there are numerous methods to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will lighten teeth significantly. Because tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple methods: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of everyday use. Three different strengths of gel may be used, however, the greater the strength, the higher the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and convenient whitening process. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays must be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
