Too busy for the normal two dental visit crown?

Technology today is changing our daily lives. Lots of people, however, aren't aware that innovation also is impacting dentistry in new and amazing methods.

Cutting-edge developments in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, triggering less pain and creating satisfying outcomes.

One advancement instrument, called same day crowns, enables dental practitioners to quickly fix broken teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, conserving patients time and inconvenience.

Exactly what are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, mean that a dental practitioner can quickly restore broken teeth in a single visit using a high-quality ceramic product that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, including a camera, computer, and milling machine in one instrument.

The dental practitioner utilizes a special camera to take a precise picture of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD technology to design the restoration. The CAM takes over and immediately creates the restoration while the patient waits.

Finally, the dental practitioner bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface area of the old tooth. The entire process takes about 2 hours.

What does this innovation mean for a client?

A tooth-colored restoration indicates no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dental practitioners don't need to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the standard second appointment has been removed.

Same day crowns have twenty years of clinical research study and documentation to promote the technology. The restorations have actually been proven exact, safe and efficient.

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem.
