If you have a fractured or damaged tooth, are experiencing discomfort when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or wish to eliminate unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent alternative for you. Dental Crowns cover the visible surface area of the affected tooth, adding resilience and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we offer on a case by case basis to patients who would benefit from the procedure. They allow clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This eliminates the need to have a short-term crown placed then another check-up arranged for the positioning of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new innovation that scans the mouth to get the proper measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are really strong and resilient and constructed out of the highest quality porcelain available. Sometimes, a gold crown might be recommended for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the cost may vary between the two and you may want to discuss your budget plan too with the your dentist. Your dental practitioner will go over with you the kinds of crowns available and offer you a suggestion based on your certain circumstance.

Call us to arrange a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to meeting you.

The Conversation Of The Day Will Be:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also trigger the nerve to be harmed to the point it requires root canal therapy. Once this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even deteriorate the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and may be extremely uncomfortable. Symptoms that the pulp has actually ended up being infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms are apparent and the individual is unaware of any issue up until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
