Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are multiple advantages to having treatment with same day crowns over traditional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is carried out in a single visit, you only have to visit the dentist once, take one day from your life to have the procedure, instead of the usual 2 or 3 appointments.

  • Only one anesthetic injections, since the whole procedure can be performed within an hour you only need to have one injection.

  • Your dentist is in complete control of the final outcome, given that the crown or inlay are designed and fabricated from start to finish by your dental practitioner, they have overall control over how it will fit and look.

  • No short-term restorations, which can often fall off in between appointments if they are not taken care of properly.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Dental Dentures

There are various types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The whole mouth is analyzed and a decision is made about which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal performance and appearance return and one simply continues as usual. Typically implants can be used to further support the dentures.

It is necessary to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures impact the kind of food you have the ability to eat, your confidence in social situations, and even your self-esteem.

A Few Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other procedures

An upper full denture will often feel better than a lower full denture. In order to dramatically improve the fit of a lower full denture, we often recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly enhance comfort. Often, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has been in use for a number of years.
