Common techniques of positioning single crowns usually call for 2 or more visits. During the very first one, the dental professional will generally ready the tooth, acquire the information needed to make the last permanent|long-term} crown (impression) then put on a short-term crown.

In the past you would need to wear the short-term crown for 2 weeks. Throughout those 2 weeks things can happen to your tooth: It can move in position, it might end up being a lot more sensitive, or in need of more support some areas can be a lot more prone to cracking throughout this time.

Today's Subject Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Identifying issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily used to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the doctor to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a big format for easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
