A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a typical dental treatment that is typically needed when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually broken down to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Typical crowns are relatively troublesome to obtain, but there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a great option because they are more convenient and lead to less pain:

A Lot Less Painful

A traditional crown can lead to pain for a few reasons, but among the biggest sources of pain and discomfort is a result of needing to use a temporary crown.

A temporary crown is applied as a placeholder to secure your exposed tooth till your permanent crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

The problem with a temporary crown is that they are not really strong, which means that they can break or come loose extremely quickly.

A busted or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can trigger a fair bit of discomfort if they reach the exposed nerves below the temporary crown.

Another source of discomfort comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can get to the point where it can get fairly unpleasant and begin to bleed, which also opens the path for possible infections.

Luckily, a same-day crown will supply you with a permanent crown at the end of your very first appointment to the dental practitioner.

This gets rid of the need for a temporary crown, thus permitting you to avoid all of the discomfort and pain.

More Convenient

A conventional crown is not a very hassle-free procedure to have performed, mostly since it typically takes at least two visits to finish.

If your temporary crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another visit to have it replaced. This can be a huge problem if you have a busy schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that discourages taking some time off in the middle of a busy work day.

Nevertheless, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single appointment. This is made possible due to the fact that numerous dental practitioners will purchase the equipment to make their own crowns, instead of needing to purchase crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you prevent the inconvenience of needing to potentially invest weeks and numerous visits to your dental practitioner before the treatment is over and finished with.

Speak with your dental practitioner and inquire about the advantages offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can supply you with a convenient and reasonably pain-free alternative to a standard crown.

The Topic For Today Is:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a badly damaged joint.
