The Discussion Of The Day Is:

Dental Dentures

There are various kinds of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is analyzed and a decision is made about which teeth will have to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and look return and one simply continues as usual. Typically implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.

It is necessary to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you are able to eat, your self-esteem in social scenarios, and even your self-esteem.

A Few Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the exact same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other procedures

An upper full denture will often feel better than a lower full denture. In order to drastically enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we often suggest utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants placed in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably improve comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for numerous years.
