Today's Topic Will Be:

Dentures (Dental)

There are different types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is analyzed and a decision is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal performance and look return and one simply continues as usual. Frequently implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.

It is necessary to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures impact the kind of food you are able to eat, your confidence in social circumstances, as well as your self-esteem.

A Few Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the exact same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper full denture will often feel better than a lower full denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower full denture, we regularly recommend utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has been in use for multiple years.
