TOOTH IMPLANT IN ONE DAY

Updated On Thursday, June 21, 2018 03:31:27 PM

Our practice loves brand-new technology, particularly when it enhances the dental care that we can offer to our patients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a remarkable new technology where gorgeous all porcelain crowns are produced within two hours of the preparation of a tooth for a crown. The old process was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to get the crown built. Throughout this time the client would need to have a short-term plastic crown that was normally uncomfortable.

Today, our devices allows us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within 2 hours. This means that the patient leaves our office with the final crown that day!

  • There's no need to have a short-term crown for 2 or 3 weeks.

  • There's no need to return once more to have the one day crown placed on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed once more! No more needles!

Our office prefers same day crowns due to the fact that it is made of stunning material as well as extremely durable.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

The Conversation Of The Day Is:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also trigger the nerve to be harmed to the point it requires root canal treatment. As soon as this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even weaken the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be really agonizing. Signs that the pulp has actually ended up being infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs are apparent and the individual is unaware of any issue until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
