Dentures (Dental)
There are different types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is analyzed and a determination is made as to which teeth will need to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular capability and look return and one just continues as usual. Frequently implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.
It is necessary to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the kind of food you have the ability to eat, your self-esteem in social scenarios, and even your self-confidence.
Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the very same arch
- Restore chewing ability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other treatments
An upper full denture will often feel better than a lower full denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower full denture, we regularly recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially enhance comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has been in use for numerous years.
