Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
As with a lot of dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last years, providing you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique normally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy usually involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
