CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. Today's Subject Is:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a treatment where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in specific circumstances where a tooth has actually been broken or become stained. These are normally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable ways rather than through a more expensive dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close spaces between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a shiny finish as a last step.
