Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This advanced technology allows your dentist to take accurate pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns provide exceptional benefits, value, and precision to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of 3 basic steps. First, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take extremely accurate images of your tooth and the surrounding structures. 2nd, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, designs your custom-fitted crown. Third, your dental practitioner will send out the design to their in-office accuracy milling device which produces the crown out of a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will position it on your tooth.

What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to produce our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide unparalleled strength, resilience, chip and stain resistance, and natural beauty.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth prep work and preserve more of your tooth structure.

Traditional crowns require two office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a beautifully restored tooth.

You can prevent the inconvenience and possible threats associated with ill-fitting temporary crowns.

Today's Topic Is:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a terribly damaged joint.
