Single Visit Crowns With Advanced Technology

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to develop crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental innovation, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Typically, a crown in the past would have needed 2 visits. The very first appointment consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the second appointment, the short-term crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the whole procedure can be completed in just one visit. We will use video imaging technology to photograph the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling device that carves the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a temporary in addition to a second visit.

Corrective dentistry treatments can be crucial to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of many clients, there are a number of ways to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Since tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous methods: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of daily use. 3 various strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely fast and convenient lightening procedure. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
