At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this technology for multiple years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, generally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling device.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the device, which is much stronger.

The block is then precisely carved to produce your new restoration, which is wonderful.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time and after that we clean up!

We need to ensure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crown Restorations

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Spotting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, costly treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the patient and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a huge format for much easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send and get your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you rapidly.
