Two Reasons To Speak To Your Dental Professional Regarding Same Day Crowns

Same day crowns are a terrific alternative that makes getting a crown much more convenient and less time-consuming. These crowns work in similar method as traditional crowns, other than that same-day crowns are made in the dentist's office while you are waiting, rather than being purchased from a dental lab like traditional crowns.

Here are 2 reasons to talk with your dental practitioner about the possibility of getting a same day crown:

A lot more Convenient

Convenience is going to be the best factor that lot of individuals choose to opt for a same-day crown.

In the past, getting a crown would mean that you would have to pay numerous appointments to your dental practitioner before the crown was in place, with one appointment devoted to preparing your tooth and another appointment to place the long-term crown over your tooth.

While that may not look like it is too time-consuming, it can often be difficult to take some time off from your job or family numerous times in the length of a week or more in order to see your dentist during regular business hours.

Since the same-day crown is made in-house by your dentist, you will have the final crown fitted over the tooth before you leave from your one required crown appointment.

This is handy due to the fact that you will not need to worry about irritating your boss, having your co-workers cover for you, or missing out on pay since you had to leave in the middle of the work day multiple times to go to the dentist.

A Lot More Comfortable

Another reason to ask your dentist for a same-day crown is comfort. Same day crowns are more comfortable since you won't need to invest a week or more wearing a temporary crown while waiting for your permanent crown.

A short-term crown can often provide a fair bit of inflammation and pain since it can frequently become loose quickly.

When a short-term crown is loose, it can enable liquids to get under it and touch nerves in the exposed roots of your tooth. The loose fit can also trigger the short-term crown to shift along your gum and trigger the skin to become scratched and irritated.

While you generally do not need to wear a temporary crown for long, a same-day crown can allow you to avoid any issues associated with the short-term crown completely.

This type of crown is going to be both a lot more comfy and a lot more convenient to get than a standard crown.

Today's Topic Is:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are multiple methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Because tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple methods: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical whitening procedure. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients love this treatment since it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays must be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
