The Conversation For Today Will Be:
Dentures (Dental)
There are different types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is examined and a determination is made about which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and appearance return and one simply carries on as usual. Typically implants can be used to further support the dentures.
It is essential to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social circumstances, and even your self-confidence.
A Couple Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the very same arch
- Restore chewing ability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other treatments
An upper complete denture will almost always feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to dramatically improve the fit of a lower complete denture, we frequently suggest utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially improve comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for a number of years.
