Obtain A Perfect Smile With Same Day Crowns

Same Day Crowns resolve visual needs, fix tooth function, and improve the general health of your mouth. In cases where teeth have big broken down fillings, a crown can secure and maintain the rest of the natural tooth.

To improve your smile, a metal-free, tooth-colored same day crown can also replace an older metal or porcelain crown. Following root canal therapy, a crown is typically placed over the remaining tooth structure to maintain visual and tooth function.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth.

There are numerous types of bridges. We will discuss the best options for your particular case. The "traditional bridge" is the most popular type and is usually made of porcelain fused to metal. These fixed bridges are most popular because they resemble your natural teeth. This kind of bridge consists of 2 crowns that go over two anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and are connected on either side of the synthetic teeth (pontics), filling the space developed by multiple missing teeth.

Dental bridges are extremely durable and will last years with correct home care; however, they may have to be replaced or re-cemented due to normal wear.

Reasons For Considering Getting A Fixed Bridge:

  • Restore chewing and speaking capability.

  • Maintain facial shape.

  • Fill area of missing teeth.

  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position.

  • Upgrade from a detachable partial denture to a permanent dental appliance.

  • Restore your smile.

What does getting a Fixed Bridge involve?

Getting a bridge generally needs 2 or more visits. While the teeth are numb, the two anchoring teeth are prepared by removing a portion of enamel to allow for a crown. Next, a highly precise impression (mold) is made which will be sent to a dental lab where the bridge will be made. In addition, a temporary bridge will be made and used for multiple weeks up until your next visit.

At the 2nd visit, your permanent bridge will be carefully checked, adjusted, and cemented to achieve a appropriate fit and comfy bite.

You will receive care directions at the conclusion of your treatment. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your new permanent bridge.

Why You Should Consider Dental Bridges?

This is an option for filling the space created by a missing tooth. It is formed to appear like the missing tooth, and it takes its place in the mouth. The sides of a bridge uses the two surrounding teeth for assistance, hence the name. A bridge replaces the missing tooth, both functionally and cosmetically. Bridge work is as much an art as it is an precise science. The materials used may be gold alloys, porcelain bonded to metal alloy, or all ceramic material. The option of material depends upon requirements for strength, wear, and/or esthetics.

It is essential that a missing tooth be replaced as soon as possible for a number of reasons. If not treated the teeth surrounding the gap start to shift inward, developing a whole domino effect of bad things. Teeth utilize their neighbors for assistance, and, with one missing, they begin to "fall." As this gets worse the bite changes in reaction to the pressure. This can eventually lead to problems with the whole jaw, e.g. TMJ. The surrounding teeth deteriorate and it is just a matter of time before they, too, are lost. Gum disease becomes a major problem, with the difficulty of treatment increasing as the neglect continues.
