Why Select Same Day Crowns?

There are lots of advantages of using same day crown over standard crown innovation.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one visit, saving you considerable time away from your job and family.

  • Comfort: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a temporary crown, eliminating substantial possible pain.

  • Aesthetics: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of same day crowns restore your teeth to their natural strength, appeal, and function, and carefully match the composition of your natural tooth structure.

  • Strength: Milled ceramic is tougher than the traditional method of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain beautiful for many years!

Today's Subject Is:

Fillings

Fillings are done to remove decay, and replace the afflicted tooth structure. It is called a filling due to the fact that new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can result in tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would require a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are two kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists supply both kinds of fillings, however find that a lot of their clients prefer the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings offer good sturdiness and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dental practitioner prepares the tooth, and this might result in a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively connected, to the tooth, commonly allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry during the whole filling process and they undergo stain and discoloration over time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend significantly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also typically used to fix front teeth that have actually cracked or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is normally much cheaper than veneers or crowns. However, bonding normally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
