TEETH IN A DAY

What Are Same Day Dental Crowns?

Same day crowns are a brand-new technology that a dentist can economically bring back broken teeth in a single visit using a high-quality ceramic product that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling device in one instrument. The dental practitioner uses a unique camera to take an accurate photo of the broken tooth. This optical impression is downloaded and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD technology to design the restoration. Then CAM takes over and automatically creates the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the dentist bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire process takes about one hour.

What Does This Technology Mean For A Client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dentists no longer need to develop temporaries or take impressions and send them to a laboratory. Because of this, the traditional second appointment has been removed. This brand-new innovation has over a decade of clinical research and documentation to support it. The restorations have actually been proven accurate, safe and reliable.

Today's Topic Is About:

Dental Dentures

There are different types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The whole mouth is examined and a decision is made regarding which teeth will have to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular capability and look return and one just continues as usual. Typically implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.

It is essential to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you are able to eat, your confidence in social situations, as well as your self-esteem.

A Couple Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the very same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper complete denture will almost always feel better than a lower complete denture. In order to drastically enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we frequently recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for a number of years.
