What's So Great About Same Day Dental Crowns?

In a normal dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and frequently an uncomfortable process that can take a number of weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which enables us to scan, design, and mill gorgeous tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Imagine coming into our dental office to get a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, resilient, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today to find out more!

More About The Same Day Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will go over the information of the procedure and your dental practitioner will address any concerns you might have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in specific situations where a tooth has been damaged or become stained. These are normally minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably inexpensive ways rather than through a more expensive dental procedure.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
