What Is So Great About Same Day Dental Crowns?

In a normal dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and typically an unpleasant procedure that can take a number of weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which enables us to scan, design, and mill gorgeous tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Picture coming into our dental office to get a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more information!

More About The Single Visit Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dentist will talk about the details of the treatment and your dentist will address any concerns you may have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be developed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery may be required to fix a severely damaged joint.
