Same Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be needing a dental treatment that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you might be beginning to dread the time you will have to invest at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we offer a terrific time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we incorporate advanced innovations and treatments to provide our patients with the very best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who have to get dental crowns, we are extremely delighted to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a badly stained tooth that needs to be brought back to its original, attractive appearance.

Normally getting a dental crown is a prolonged treatment. The dental practitioner will need to take impressions, offer you with a short-term crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a laboratory, then have you go back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to create a crown.

This crown is actually milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and eliminate any need to send impressions or photos to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, eliminating the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not have to get a short-term crown, given that our permanent crown will be immediately offered to you.

If you wish to meet with our dentist to get more information about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, call our office.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Spotting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily used to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It allows the patient and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a huge format for easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also enables us to send and get your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
