Single Visit Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be requiring a dental treatment that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you may be starting to dread the time you will need to invest at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we offer a fantastic time-saving option for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dentists on staff. At our dental practice we incorporate cutting edge innovations and treatments to provide our patients with the best restorative, preventive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who have to get dental crowns, we are really pleased to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is generally made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a severely tarnished tooth that needs to be restored to its initial, attractive appearance.

Typically getting a dental crown is a lengthy treatment. The dentist will need to take impressions, offer you with a temporary crown, await the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and then have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are produced in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to create a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and get rid of any need to send out impressions or photos to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, eliminating the need to come back for a second appointment.

You also will not need to get a crown, since our long-term crown will be instantly available to you.

If you want to meet with our dentist for more information about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our practice.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of many clients, there are numerous methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth lightening system that will whiten teeth significantly. Because tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple approaches: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of everyday use. Three different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the higher the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and hassle-free whitening procedure. The visit is around one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
