Porcelain Tooth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a stunning and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to many dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still really long lasting and will last years, giving you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is positioned over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy normally involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy normally involves two appointments because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
