Same day crowns are a dental restoration innovation that enables a dentist to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using computer-assisted innovations, including 3-D photography and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing).

Same day crowns allows dental practitioners the versatility to restore teeth in a single sitting with a client, rather than the numerous appointments required with other techniques!

Same day crowns have actually been shown by hundreds of clinical research studies and is provided by thousands of dentists to millions of clients all over the world each year!

Same day crowns not just saves you time and money, it can also save your teeth!

Dental X-rays are not able to penetrate metal crowns, making any degeneration undetectable up until it was too late.

Same day crowns use a strong porcelain that x-rays can penetrate. This means any degeneration below the restoration can be found and fixed before it ends up being a major problem.

Because same day crown technology use a milling device to mill the ceramic into your custom-made restoration, the porcelain is stronger than those developed by hand. And, the computer-assisted technology can produce an practically identical restoration of the previous tooth.

The Discussion Of The Day Is:

Fillings

Fillings are done to remove decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling because new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can lead to tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would require a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 types of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists offer both types of fillings, but find that a lot of their clients like the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings provide great durability and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is eliminated when the dental practitioner prepares the tooth, and this may result in a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively connected, to the tooth, frequently allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the whole filling process and they undergo stain and staining with time. The life span of a white filling can depend significantly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also frequently used to fix front teeth that have broken or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is typically much cheaper than veneers or crowns. However, bonding normally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
