Same Day Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental technology, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Usually, a crown in the past would have required two visits. The first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. During the second appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be finished in just one appointment. We will use video imaging innovation to photograph the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly sent to a milling device that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to get a temporary in addition to a 2nd appointment.

Corrective dentistry treatments can be essential to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

The Discussion Of The Day Will Be:

Porcelain Teeth Veneers

Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a stunning and appealing smile.

Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Just like most dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last multiple years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy normally involves two appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is generally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and beautiful veneers.
