Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)
Veneers are a very thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and appealing smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to many dental restorations, veneers might one day need replacement; however, they are still extremely long lasting and will last years, offering you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy generally involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is normally referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy typically involves 2 visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is typically less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care instructions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and gorgeous veneers.
