Same Day Dental Crowns With Advanced Technology

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It permits us to produce crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental technology, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire procedure takes between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have required two appointments. The very first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the 2nd appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be completed in simply one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling machine that carves the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to wear a temporary along with a 2nd visit.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be crucial to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full scope of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

The Conversation Of The Day Is:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
