What Is So Great About Single Visit Dental Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and typically an unpleasant procedure that can take multiple weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which enables us to scan, design, and mill gorgeous tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Imagine entering our dental office to get a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, resilient, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more details!

The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your visit, you and your dentist will discuss the information of the procedure and your dentist will answer any concerns you may have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be developed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a full range of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

The Topic For Today Will Be:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal therapy. When this happens, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very unpleasant. Symptoms that the pulp has become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs appear and the person is unaware of any problem till a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is suggested for recovering a tooth that has had root canal treatment.
