How Can Same Day Crowns Benefit Me?

With this new innovation it permits dentists to custom-craft restorations in as little as one hour. With this, we can make natural looking crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers here in our office while you unwind. Now, there is no longer a need to make multiple trips to the dentist's office to be measured and fitted with temporary restorations - you can enjoy a fantastic, natural looking, and durable solution for your missing or damaged teeth today.

Initially, your dentist will consult with you to go over the information of the procedure. During the treatment, the dentist will put a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique camera to take a picture of your tooth.

Using the brand-new software, the image functions as a map to create your tooth's restoration. Then, it will use a diamond bur and disk-work to produce your restoration piece from ceramic.

Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

It makes your teeth stronger and more lovely - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the top-quality ceramic product works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal therapy. As soon as this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be really agonizing. Symptoms that the pulp has ended up being infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no symptoms are apparent and the individual is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. As soon as the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
