Are you too busy for the routine two dental appointment crown?

Technology today is changing our everyday lives. Many people, however, aren't aware that technology also is affecting dentistry in new and interesting methods.

Cutting-edge developments in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less pain and creating rewarding results.

One advancement instrument, called same day crowns, allow dental practitioners to rapidly fix broken teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, saving clients time and inconvenience.

What are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, mean that a dentist can quickly fix broken teeth in a single appointment using a premium ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, integrating a camera, computer, and milling machine in one instrument.

The dentist utilizes a special camera to take an accurate photo of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is moved and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner uses CAD technology to develop the restoration. The CAM takes control and immediately creates the restoration while the patient waits.

Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire process takes about two hours.

What does this innovation do for a patient?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dentists don't have to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the standard second visit has actually been eliminated.

Same day crowns have twenty years of medical research and documents to promote the innovation. The restorations have been proven accurate, safe and efficient.

How can I learn if this is an alternative for me?

Call our office today and we will be glad to address your concerns on this brand-new innovation.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Detecting problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly used to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Big on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
