What Are Single Visit Crowns?

The same day crown is a innovation for fixing damaged teeth, and this restoration can be finished in a single appointment to the dentist's office. It makes your teeth tougher and more gorgeous, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the top-quality ceramic material works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

More About The Single Visit Crown Process

Throughout your visit, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the information of the treatment and your dental practitioner will address any questions you might have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full range of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

Today Were Talking About:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If untreated and required to extremes, surgery may be required to repair a terribly damaged joint.
