Same day crowns are an advanced dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, cracked, or cracked teeth. This technology can develop full crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown device crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made from compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of getting a same day crown restoration is that it is achieved in one appointment. In addition to the advantage of a one visit restoration, there is no uncomfortable impression material to bite on or a short-term crown to wear.

The procedure for placement of a same day crown restoration is very simple. The initial step is to eliminate all degeneration from the tooth. The dentist will then form the tooth in preparation to take a digital image. The tooth is then sprayed with a really fine powder. This allows the digital camera to take an appropriate image. When this image is recorded, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will enable the dental practitioner to create the restoration right in front of you.

Once the design is finished, the same day crown device will mill the restoration. This step takes approximately 15 minutes. You can actually see this procedure if you would like. When the restoration is finished milling, the dental practitioner will put the restoration on your tooth.

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
