The Conversation Of The Day Is:

Tooth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.

Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to a lot of dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still really resilient and will last many years, giving you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy usually involves two appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory produced veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is usually less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care instructions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
