At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this technology for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to change damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, normally in about an hour.

So what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth material and scan the readied tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and start working with the computer.

Everybody enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the designing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling device.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your brand-new restoration, which is wonderful.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and then we clean up!

We have to ensure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full scope of indications: onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers and inlays.

The Topic For Today Is:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain circumstances where a tooth has been broken or ended up being stained. These are typically minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive means instead of through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the alignment of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
