Single Visit Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be needing a dental procedure that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you might be starting to fear the time you will have to invest at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we provide a excellent time-saving solution for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we incorporate state-of-the-art innovations and procedures to supply our clients with the very best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who need to get dental crowns, we are very delighted to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is generally made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a severely stained tooth that has to be brought back to its original, appealing appearance.

Normally getting a dental crown is a lengthy treatment. The dentist will have to take impressions, supply you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and after that have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice clients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are produced in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is in fact milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and remove any need to send out impressions or photos to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second visit.

You also will not have to get a short-term crown, given that our permanent crown will be instantly offered to you.

If you wish to meet with our dentist to get more information about same day crowns or to get a same day crown, call our office.

Today Were Discussing:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If untreated and required to extremes, surgery may be required to fix a terribly damaged joint.
