Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Just like the majority of dental restorations, veneers may at some point need replacement; however, they are still very long lasting and will last years, providing you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct method generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy typically involves two visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is usually less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your new and stunning veneers.
