Too busy for the normal two dental appointment crown?

Technology today is changing our daily lives. Many individuals, however, aren't aware that technology also is impacting dentistry in brand-new and amazing ways.

Cutting-edge innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, triggering less pain and creating satisfying results.

One breakthrough instrument, called same day crowns, allow dental practitioners to quickly fix damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, conserving patients time and inconvenience.

What are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, indicates that a dental practitioner can quickly restore damaged teeth in a single visit using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, including a camera, computer, and milling device in one instrument.

The dentist uses a special camera to take a precise image of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is moved and shown on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner utilizes CAD innovation to create the restoration. The CAM takes control and immediately produces the restoration while the client waits.

Finally, the dental practitioner bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire process takes about two hours.

Exactly what does this development do for a patient?

A tooth-colored restoration indicates no more silver fillings tarnishing smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dentists don't have to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the traditional second appointment has actually been eliminated.

Same day crowns have 20 years of medical research and documentation to promote the technology. The restorations have actually been shown exact, safe and reliable.

How can I learn if this is an alternative for me?

Call our office today and we will be glad to address your concerns on this new innovation.

Today's Topic Is About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are multiple methods to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Since tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple methods: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the higher the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and convenient bleaching process. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
