The Benefits Of Using Single Visit Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It enables you to have your dental crown put in place in simply one dental visit.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which copies the look of your natural teeth thus making it visually pleasing. It does not cause temperature sensitivity which is true when it comes to dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same durability as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more accurate. The impression made from this brand-new technology is more precise as compared to traditional impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using salt alignate.

The only downside of a same day crown is that not all clients are candidates for this treatment. Patients with substantial tooth damage that has actually reached the gum line requires a standard crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth needs a laboratory-manufactured crown since they are thoroughly made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this sort of procedure or you have additional questions or concerns regarding same day crowns, call us today.

Today's Topic Is:

Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease)

Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. Due to the fact that gum disease is generally pain-free, you may not know you have it. Also referred to as periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of germs that is continuously forming on our teeth.

Some warning signs that can signal a problem:

  • gums that bleed too quickly.

  • red, inflamed, sore gums.

  • gums that have pulled away from the teeth.

  • persistent foul breath or bad taste.

  • permanent teeth that are separating or loose.

  • any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.

  • any difference in the fit of partial dentures.

There are lots of aspects that increase the danger of establishing gum disease consisting of smoking, pregnancy, and diabetes. It is essential to go to your dentist if you think you have gum disease because the faster you treat it the better.

The early stage of gum disease is called gingivitis. If you have gingivitis, your gums may become red, swollen and bleed quickly. At this stage, the disease is still reversible and can generally be eliminated by a professional cleaning at your dental office, followed by daily flossing and brushing.

Advanced periodontal disease is called periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis can lead to the loss of bone and tissue that support the teeth and it might become more serious in time. If it does, your teeth will feel loose and start moving around in your mouth. It usually worsens slowly, however there can be periods of rapid progression.

Aggressive periodontitis is a highly damaging form of gum disease that occurs in patients who are otherwise healthy. Typical features include rapid loss of bone and tissue and may happen in some areas of the mouth, or in the entire mouth.

Research between systemic diseases and gum diseases is ongoing. While a link is not conclusive, some studies indicate that extreme gum disease may be associated with multiple other health conditions such as stroke or diabetes.

Regular dental examinations and gum examinations are very important. The treatment methods that most dentists diagnose will depend upon the type of disease and how far the condition has advanced. Excellent dental care in your home is essential to help keep periodontal disease from ending up being more serious or recurring.
