The Topic For Today Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of most clients, there are numerous methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth bleaching system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Because tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple approaches: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is recommended for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and hassle-free bleaching process. The appointment is approximately one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays ought to be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
