Our practice likes new innovations, especially when it enhances the dental care that we can provide to our patients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a remarkable brand-new technology where lovely all porcelain crowns are created within two hours of the preparation of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dental practitioner prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to get the crown built. Throughout this time the patient would have to wear a short-term plastic crown that was always uncomfortable.

Today, our equipment allows us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the client leaves our practice with the final crown that day!

  • There is no need to wear a temporary crown for two to three weeks.

  • There is no need to return once again to have the same day crown placed on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed once more! No more shots!

Our practice chooses same day crowns because it is made of beautiful material as well as extremely long lasting.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our office a call.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a broad scope of indications: onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers and inlays.

The Discussion Of The Day Will Be:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also trigger the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal treatment. Once this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not heal on its own. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and may be very painful. Signs that the pulp has become infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no signs appear and the individual is unaware of any issue till a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. When the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
