Same Day Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It allows us to create crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most sophisticated dental innovation, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire procedure takes between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have needed 2 visits. The very first appointment consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. Throughout the 2nd appointment, the short-term crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the entire procedure can be finished in just one appointment. We will use video imaging technology to photograph the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that carves the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to wear a short-term in addition to a 2nd appointment.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be crucial to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a lovely and attractive smile.

Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with most dental restorations, veneers might at some point need replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last multiple years, offering you a long lasting, beautiful smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct method usually involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy usually involves two visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
