Same day crowns are an innovative dental technology that is used for the restoration of decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth. This technology can develop complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown machine crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made from compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are more durable than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is accomplished in one visit. In addition to the benefit of a one visit restoration, there is no uncomfortable impression material to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The procedure for placement of a same day crown restoration is extremely easy. The first step is to eliminate all decay from the tooth. The dentist will then form the tooth in preparation to take a digital photo. The tooth is then sprayed with a really fine powder. This allows the digital camera to take an appropriate image. As soon as this image is recorded, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will enable the dentist to develop the restoration right in front of you.

When the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes around 15 minutes. You can actually watch this process if you would like. When the restoration is completed milling, the dentist will place the restoration on your tooth.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
