Same day crowns are an advanced dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, split, or chipped teeth. This innovation can develop complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown device crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than laboratory restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most useful feature of getting a same day crown restoration is that it is accomplished in one visit. In addition to the advantage of a one visit restoration, there is no unpleasant impression product to bite on or a short-term crown to wear.

The treatment for placement of a same day crown restoration is very easy. The primary step is to remove all degeneration from the tooth. The dentist will then form the tooth in preparation to take a digital picture. The tooth is then sprayed with a very fine powder. This enables the digital camera to take an appropriate image. As soon as this image is recorded, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will enable the dental practitioner to create the restoration right in front of you.

Once the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes around 15 minutes. You can actually see this procedure if you would like. When the restoration is completed milling, the dental practitioner will place the restoration on your tooth.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

The Discussion Of The Day Will Be:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal therapy. As soon as this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it should be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even weaken the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be very unpleasant. Symptoms that the pulp has become infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no signs appear and the person is unaware of any problem till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
