What's So Special About Single Visit Crowns?

In a common dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and typically an unpleasant procedure that can take a number of weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which allows us to scan, design, and mill lovely tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Picture coming into our dental office to receive a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, long lasting, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today to find out more!

The Single Visit Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the information of the treatment and your dental practitioner will answer any questions you may have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

Today's Conversation Is About:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are a number of methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Since tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of approaches: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and convenient lightening process. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays must be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
