Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This state-of-the-art innovation allows your dentist to take accurate pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and place a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns provide exceptional benefits, value, and accuracy to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown procedure consists of 3 fundamental steps. First, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly accurate images of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Second, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dental practitioner will send the design to their in-office precision milling device which produces the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will position it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer unparalleled strength, resilience, chip and stain resistance, and natural charm.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth prep work and preserve more of your tooth structure.

Conventional crowns require two office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a beautifully fixed tooth.

You can prevent the trouble and potential threats related to uncomfortable short-term crowns.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of many clients, there are multiple ways to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will lighten teeth considerably. Since tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of methods: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 different strengths of gel may be used, however, the higher the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and practical lightening procedure. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
