Requiring any kind of dental work finished can seem like a hassel, however it is necessary to follow up on when it pertains to preserving your oral health. Although dental crowns are considered along with other treatments that fall under the cosmetic dentistry category, they can help to vastly improve anyone's oral health. Dental crowns are primarily used to fix the size, shape, and function of a tooth. Most commonly, dental crowns are used following a root canal therapy treatment where a part of the tooth mass is eliminated in order to get rid of decayed portions of the tooth. A dental crown is then used to help restore exactly what parts of the tooth were lost so that it can work as it once did, restoring the oral well being of the client.

Sometimes, dental crowns take time to process and are crafted in a laboratory while the patient wears a short-term crown in its stead. Now we can provide clients with same day dental crowns! Instead of having to visit us numerous times prior to restoring your tooth, we can provide you with a crown the very same day that you come in to get one fitted.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we use a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific scenarios where a tooth has actually been damaged or become stained. These are typically minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable means instead of through a more expensive dental procedure.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
