A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental treatment that is typically required when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually broken down to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Normal crowns are fairly troublesome to get, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a excellent choice because they are easier and result in less pain:

Less Pain

A traditional crown can lead to pain for a couple of reasons, however among the most significant sources of pain and discomfort is an outcome of needing to have a short-term crown.

A short-term crown is used as a placeholder to secure your exposed tooth until your long-term crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks.

The issue with a temporary crown is that they are not very strong, which indicates that they can break or come loose very quickly.

A busted or loose short-term crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can cause a fair bit of discomfort if they reach the exposed nerves underneath the temporary crown.

Another source of pain comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get rather painful and start to bleed, which also opens the course for potential infections.

Thankfully, a same-day crown will offer you with a permanent crown at the end of your first appointment to the dental practitioner.

This eliminates the requirement for a short-term crown, thus allowing you to avoid all the pain and discomfort.

Convenient

A traditional crown is not a very practical treatment to have carried out, primarily due to the fact that it normally takes a minimum of 2 appointments to finish.

If your temporary crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another appointment to have it replaced. This can be a huge issue if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents taking some time off in the middle of a busy work day.

However, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single visit. This is enabled due to the fact that numerous dentists will purchase the devices to make their own crowns, rather than having to order crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you avoid the trouble of needing to possibly spend weeks and numerous visits to your dental practitioner before the procedure is over and finished with.

Speak with your dental practitioner and inquire about the advantages offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can provide you with a convenient and relatively pain-free option to a conventional crown.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific circumstances where a tooth has actually been damaged or become stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively inexpensive ways instead of through a more costly dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
