ONE DAY DENTAL CROWNS
SAN SIMON AZ

Updated On Monday, June 25, 2018 04:00:28 AM

Our practice likes brand-new technology, particularly when it enhances the dental care that we can offer to our clients. Because of this we now offer same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a wonderful new innovation where stunning all porcelain crowns are developed within 2 hours of the preparation of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dental practitioner prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a lab to get the crown constructed. During this time the patient would need to have a short-term plastic crown that was normally uncomfy.

Today, our equipment permits us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a brand-new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the patient leaves our office with the permanent crown that day!

  • There is no need to wear a short-term crown for two or three weeks.

  • There is no need to return once again to have the one day crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed up once again! No more shots!

Our office prefers same day crowns because it is made of lovely material as well as very resilient.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full range of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

Today's Subject Will Be:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
