With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. Tooth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers might at some point need replacement; however, they are still very durable and will last multiple years, giving you a long lasting, beautiful smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct method normally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is usually referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy typically involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care instructions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
