How Can Same Day Crowns Help Me?

With this brand-new innovation it enables dentists to custom-craft restorations in as little as one hour. With this, we can produce natural looking crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers here in our office while you relax. Now, there is no longer a need to make numerous trips to the dentist's office to be measured and fitted with temporary restorations - you can enjoy a dazzling, natural looking, and resilient solution for your missing or broken teeth today.

First, your dental practitioner will meet with you to go over the information of the treatment. During the treatment, the dentist will put a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique camera to take a picture of your tooth.

Using the brand-new software, the image acts as a map to design your tooth's restoration. Then, it will use a diamond bur and disk-work to create your restoration piece out of ceramic.

Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

It makes your teeth stronger and more beautiful - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the state-of-the-art ceramic product works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the whole tooth surface area restoring it to its original sizes and shape. A crown protects and strengthens the tooth structure providing the tooth a longer life span than it would have if brought back by fillings or other types of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are utilized to cover a tooth that is most likely to break, or is too broken down to be recovered with a filling. They are most commonly done after root canal treatments, or when a large filling breaks. The bigger the hole made by a cavity that has to be treated, the more likely a crown will be required. Even after a filling is put in a large cavity, a tooth is more likely to break. Bear in mind that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the human body. Teeth go through tremendous pressures. Crowns sit over the weakened tooth, providing strength and securing the tooth against damage. A damaged or cracked tooth is a far more serious matter and a lot more tough to treat. Crowns prevent this, as well as producing a good smile.

It takes 2 visits to recover a tooth with a crown. In the first appointment any decay is removed from the tooth and it is formed to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in producing a crown. Between the two visits the crown is made, generally of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic material, or gold. A temporary crown is used throughout this time. In the 2nd visit this temporary crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed then cemented in place.

What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown procedure typically requires two visits. Your very first visit will consist of taking impressions that will be utilized to create your custom-made crown. A mold will also be utilized to produce a short-term crown which will stay on your tooth for roughly 2 weeks till your new crown is fabricated by a dental lab.

While the tooth is numb, the dentist will prepare the tooth by removing any decay and shaping the surface area to appropriately fit the crown. Once these details are achieved, your short-term crown will be placed with short-term cement and your bite will be examined to guarantee you are biting properly.

At your second visit your short-term crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your new crown will be thoroughly positioned to guarantee the spacing and bite are precise.

You will be given care directions and encouraged to have routine dental visits to examine your crown. As always, appropriate oral hygiene will help extend the life of your brand-new crown.
